Background

Mauricio Gallego is the Vice President of Supply Chain, bringing his proven leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to the Umoja team. Before joining the Umoja team, Mauricio was the Director of Operations for McLane Global Logistics, responsible for the strategic direction, vision, growth, and performance of the operations for multiple divisions. He is known for successfully mentoring his peers and colleagues, and developing strong, successful teams. With well over 16 years of experience, Mauricio is an established professional with an analytical mindset and an extremely successful track record handling multiple roles and large-scale projects without delay. He is highly collaborative, self-driven and thrives in fast-paced business environments, cherishing opportunities to problem solve. Mauricio delivers impeccable results through his dedication and ability to handle multiple roles, functions, and activities deftly in high-pressure environments. 

Before joining McLane Global Logistics in July 2017, Mauricio served as the Operations Manager for Sun City Produce, the largest exporter of produce to the Caribbean, to full Operations Management for all divisions in export, import, cruise ship lines and customers including 99 Cents, Fresh Market, Whole Foods and more. 

Mauricio’s skills include systems development and implementation (Dynamics AX, HighJump, Retalix, Vocollect, Voxware), warehouse design, operations optimization, customer service, project management and automation, logistics management, inventory management, strategic planning and new business development.
