Mario Castillo is the VP of Operations for Umoja. Prior to joining our team, Mario lead the supply chain of McLane Global’s Western Division. He brings 15 years of supply chain solutions experience in both food and equipment manufacturing industries, focusing on import and export, value added services, and customer sales. Mario has played a crucial role in the expansion and growth of multiple companies ranging from single location and business line to multi-state, multi-facility operations.
Mario specializes in greenfield startups of sophisticated warehousing operations. He has successfully developed high performance teams for facilities in multiple states from acquisitions to ground up new operations. He was able to do this while setting “Best in Class” standards through performance based KPI management. Mario has been recognized as an innovator by many industry leaders such as Caesar’s Casinos, Chick-Fil-A, Red Lobster, Logan’s Roadhouse, Applebee’s, Denny’s, and Black Bear Diner, as well as local restaurants and retail locations throughout the west coast. His experience goes beyond domestic borders to international exporting of food and CPG goods to countries throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia, the Pacific Islands and Australia.
